Margot shared the chairs and the cars with Jane before breakfast. She sat on the potty, then read books and played with the binoculars. During circle time everyone had a chance to meet Delilah and her mom Anaise (pronounced like “an ace of cards”). Pookie the Shy Raccoon also paid a visit to comfort our shyest ones. We used the colored Montessori hanging beads to identify colors and quantities up to ten. We sang children’s songs with the ukulele and reviewed the rules of the room. We snacked and read the oversized Red Rooster book. Margot played with the unicorn egg (she likes to put rocks inside it and use it as a shaker) and spent a long time sharing cars with her sister and her new friend Delilah.
She slept about 90 minutes. During circle time we snacked and the older kids worked on subtraction and cut-and-paste while the rest of the kiddos colored. We also worked on patterns and hand-eye coordination with the colorful snowflakes.
