Margot arrived a bit late this morning, eating breakfast with mom and her sister. She later played with the trains, sharing them with Delilah and Beatrix. We had a brief initial circle time. We helped Delilah feel comfortable, Margot hosted a show-and-tell of her new school bag and we talked about water safety, then we went out in a mild drizzle. Margot shared the kitchen area and made food with August. She collected water and transferred it to the sink. She later drove cars and played on the small slide, selling ice cream. During circle time we covered the rules of the room and recess for Delilah (and everyone). We looked at our rock collection and talked about their various attributes. We used rocks and shapes to practice tallying and skip counting by five. We used translucent tiles to make various items (trees, butterflies, etc.).
She slept about 105 minutes. During circle time we snacked and reviewed the center board. We read A Taste of the Moon (the importance of teamwork), the young’uns scribbled while the elders wrote word from the centerboard and we all had library time.
