August ate breakfast with dad and his friends, then shared the cars with the group on the mat. During circle time everyone had a chance to meet Delilah and her mom Anaise (pronounced like “an ace of cards”). Pookie the Shy Raccoon also paid a visit to comfort our shyest ones. We used the colored Montessori hanging beads to identify colors and quantities up to ten. We sang children’s songs with the ukulele and reviewed the rules of the room. We snacked and read the oversized Red Rooster book. Outside August swung with Margot, made food in the kitchen and used a frisbee as his plate.
He rested but did not nap. During circle time we snacked and the older kids worked on subtraction and cut-and-paste while the rest of the kiddos colored. We also worked on patterns and hand-eye coordination with the colorful snowflakes.
