Lion’s Pride is an extremely well-appointed home daycare with a comprehensive balanced curriculum delivered by qualified teachers. The Montessori method is an important inspiration for our pedagogy. We focus on social skills, language development, math and science skills and creativity. Our staff-child ratio is one to five. Our mission is to turn children into lifelong students who are independent thinkers, social communicators and loving people.
We have a maximum 5:1 student/teacher ratio (cap of 10 students + 2 teachers).
Every day we provide breakfast, lunch and two snacks. All meals feature all 4 food groups. Click here for a sample menu or click on the image below…

We give our students the same safety we want for our own daughter. That's why we have a low student-teacher ratio, a fire alarm system, a security alarm system, a closed-circuit video system and more!
Fei and David have 20+ years of combined kindergarten experience. As parents and educators, we've put in the time to learn what kids love to do and what helps them grow and thrive.
Children learn best when they feel safe, loved and happy. We respect the needs and interests of each child because it's the right thing to do! And a child who is happy is primed to be a child who is learning.
Maria Montessori emphasized the importance of a home-like environment to help kids learn. We've taken the next step, hosting our children in our own home. We give them the environment they need to succeed!
Science
Kids engage in science every day simply by observing their world. Indeed, science is the process of learning and discovering about the natural world around us and beyond. Our goal is to help students understand their physical environment, their own bodies and the social world in which they live.
Culture
As an international family, we believe strongly in creating global citizens who understand and respect different cultures. We broaden our children’s understanding of the world around us by introducing classic stories, poems and songs from the U.S., Europe, Asia and beyond!
Arts
The Arts portion of our curriculum encompasses both Music and Fine Arts. Together, they enrich our students’ imagination and creativity through the exploration of a variety of art forms and works. Our teachers help our students to see and to express beauty and to create their own art!
Language
Language skills are developed through communication and practice. We create a fun and relaxed environment that encourages our students to share with each other. We learn by connecting language to our daily lives. Our language classes are on an evolving set of areas that become more sophisticated as our children progress in age and skill.
Ethics
The most important thing children learn in preschool is how to be good to themselves and the people around them. In short, our children are developing a set of ethics, a system of principles that govern how they will engage with the world in a positive and healthy way.
We know that our children are the most precious things in the world and we take our responsibility to keep them safe seriously. Safety is our first priority. At Lions Pride, our low student-to-teacher ratio gives us more time and attention for each student, a huge benefit for safety and learning.
And we teach our children to follow the safety rules, we explain why we have those rules and we discuss what might happen if we don’t follow the rules.
For example, if a teacher sees a child standing on a chair, she may say: “Karen, it makes me nervous to see you standing on the chair because I am worried you will fall and hurt yourself. I see that you are trying to reach that puzzle, what’s another, safer way that you might be able to reach it?” This encourages the child to think critically and apply safety protocol across different situations.
Importantly, we teach and practice safety throughout the year, whether it’s evacuation drills, handwashing skills or conflict resolution between kids. We constantly review our safety procedures to minimize risk.
In practice, safety first means putting together the right hardware and processes to keep our children as safe as possible. And then we put it all in action by rehearsing the right thing to do!
With two educators and a maximum of 10 children, our focus is always on our children. This low student-teacher ratio means we spend more time working with each child while still keeping track of the entire classroom. Our classrooms are spacious enough to accommodate our children but small enough that we can keep our eyes on everyone.
Health is an important element of safety, which is why we deep-clean our facilities every day. Maintaining a healthy environment means both cleaning (removing debris) and sanitizing (killing germs). We both clean and sanitize every surface on a daily basis to give our children a safe and healthy home environment.
We hope that we never perform an actual evacuation or shelter-in-place during a tornado. Even so, we practice safety drills every month to help our children understand what to do in an emergency.
Multiple layers of security minimize the risk of danger to our children. Our home is equipped with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, fire alarm sirens, strobe lights, fire extinguishers and fire sprinklers. Security cameras inside and outside help keep our children safe at all times.
Our playground includes padding a privacy fence, padding under the swings and kid-friendly toys. We spray for mosquitos throughout the summer months to minimize bug bite
Lions Pride is a centrally located home daycare just north of Forest Park. We are eight miles or less away from most locations in greater St. Louis.
